Trade and Customs Analyst (Contract) - Gaydon (Hybrid Working) - Up to £250 per day - Automotive

Our client are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join their team as a Trade and Customs Analyst on a full time ongoing contract. As the primary point of contact for all Aftersales-related customs queries, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with import and export requirements for various countries and customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in aftercare within the field of customs and trade to make a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The role:

  • You will be the primary point of contact for all Aftersales-related customs queries
  • To identify, research and understand import and export requirements for all required countries and customers on behalf of the aftersales team
  • Analyse all relevant data required for the import and export operations, as well as implementing clear processes
  • Addressing and escalating areas of concern, including taking meetings to address and resolve issues relating to trade and customs
  • Writing SOPs to record import and export activities where impacting customs regimes
  • Developing progress reports and communicating findings as well as driving call to actions
  • Supporting the teams manager to identify customs related market risks and determining best proceedings
  • Working with carnets and centralising them while bringing in processes to manage them

Ideal candidate:

  • Experience of aftercare within the field of customs and trade
  • Has worked with Goldcrest previously
  • Strong IT skills such as Excel, Powerpoint etc
  • Confident speaker and presenter
  • Able to communicate with cross functional teams
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and international trade
  • Worked with Carnet shipments previously
  • Experience of automotive, logistics operations or retail supply chain
  • Understanding of customs requirements for HMRC, process flows as well as documentations for global imports and exports
  • Confident self starter able to work independently
  • Detail orientated individual
  • Advantageous, additional European language
