When I was looking to relocate to the North, I worked with Laura from The Candidate’s Senior Market team and found that she really took the time to understand what I was looking for in my next role. I felt that The Candidate were different to other recruitment companies in the industry because they put the candidate first, the team are all very personable and approachable and actually care about finding you the right role rather than hitting targets. In my opinion, recruiters sometimes forget that you may be their clients in the future and how they treat you can impact their future business, this is something that the Candidate are not guilty of.
When looking for a role at this level it's really important the recruiter treats you as an individual and not just someone who is there to enable them to hit a target and generate commission. Relationships are important, particularly keeping the dialogue going, always responding to emails and providing feedback even if negative – Laura had the right approach from day one and I would recommend her from both a candidate and a client perspective.
