Sales Account Manager – UK Wide - £30,000 - £35,000 DOE (+ London Weighting) - Beauty

Our client is a well-known company in the beauty industry with over 13 years of experience, they are recognised worldwide as a leading brand in hair and beauty products. Their fast-paced and entrepreneurial culture fosters innovation and rapid growth in this dynamic industry.

The Sales Account Manager, working within an assigned geographical area, plays a crucial role in achieving business goals for our client. This position requires residing within the assigned area and focusing on professional hair and beauty salons as key customers. As a Sales Account Manager, you will demonstrate exceptional business acumen in direct sales of the brand’s products. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating strong leads of professional salon prospects, following up on leads promptly, and fostering new business opportunities. In addition, the Sales Account Manager will nurture and expand existing accounts. This role requires face-to-face account management, with approximately 85% of the time spent visiting salons, 10% working from home for administrative tasks, and 5% attending regional sales meetings. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of sales achievements in the professional hair and beauty sector, combined with a strong work ethic for cultivating new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop business plans for the direct sale of the brand’s products.
  • Generate a robust lead list of professional salon prospects and promptly follow up on incoming leads.
  • Cultivate new business opportunities while growing and managing existing accounts.
  • Conduct face-to-face account management
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales & Training Manager, UK Sales Director, and team members to execute corporate directives.
  • Promote a sales/customer-centric environment, employing a consultative approach and striving for mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships and provide business attire for all salon meetings.
  • Travel daily within the assigned territory, with potential overnight stays if required.
  • Effectively manage a journey plan, calling on 8-9 salons per day (existing and prospect accounts).
  • Implement promotional and marketing materials, working closely with the Education Team to ensure salon support.
  • Represent the brand at professional trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Maintain an active prospect list of warm and cold leads.
  • Monitor accounts' performance and report against growth targets.
  • Utilise strong negotiation and selling techniques, demonstrating proficiency in sales fundamentals.
  • Build and nurture internal and external business relationships, leveraging strong communication and presentation skills. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Full-time role with previous on-the-road sales experience (essential).
  • Ideal background from the hair and beauty industry - act as an expert in the salon
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities, with numeracy proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Forecasting Trackers, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and email.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Build customer intelligence and network strongly across professional salons.
  • Monitor and report on account performance against growth targets.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, selling techniques, and sales fundamentals.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to build and nurture business relationships.
  • Strategic thinking and excellent analytical skills.
  • Effective working as part of a team while self-motivated to work alone.
  • Professional attitude and ability to liaise with internal departments while working remotely.
